Night Hymns have released their latest Brit Pop-inspired single, ‘Desert Song’, a solemn track that captures the nostaligic spirit of the band’s 90s-infused sound. The track is a must-listen for fans of The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and The Beatles; a dreamy, timeless journey for any avid traditional rock and roll fan.

The video for ‘Desert Song’ highlights the beauty of simplicity, as it is a home shot yet incredibly effective ‘live’ performance of emotive guitar and vocals. The video serves as a time machine to the past, when Oasis, Radiohead, and many more ruled the airwaves. Night Hymns is the solo project of inventive musician Wei Chunxiao. His inherently powerful understanding of what he does makes the project a joy to both listen to and watch.

His true passion radiates from the music as he explains: “Sitting around and strumming the guitar in Vancouver, I’m just writing to reach people who are into this kind of music. Don’t know where they are but they got to be somewhere. The music is so straightforward it’s hard to miss the point. I write about my wanderlust, about the places I’ve been to, and about the little things that tickled me. My influences come from both sides of the Atlantic, but mostly I just write the tunes off my head. It’s only rock and roll, but you haven’t heard this one before…”

Night Hymns’ mission is to connect with other passionate musicians and listeners around the world. His heartfelt writing and timeless music create a unique bond between him and anyone who allows themselves to open up to his sound. Fans who can empathize with the emotion will certainly fall in love with the music of Night Hymns, and ‘Desert Song’ is a perfect example of just that.
