The highly anticipated debut album from the international artist collective, UBU, is finally here. After two years in the making, the self-titled album showcases the talents of eleven different artists from various backgrounds and genres. But this release holds a deeper meaning as it serves as a tribute to their founding member, Marco Trinchillo. UBU was initially formed by Trinchillo and fellow musician Mattia Mercuriali as a side project for their band Amycanbe.
But the collective soon took on a life of its own, bringing together musicians such as Hannah Saunders, FRNQ, Nicola Biondi, Pieralberto Valli, Hellis, Cleats, Luca Parma, Emma Perrot, Enzo Moretto, Francesca Amati, and Pieralberto Valli. The album was produced at ‘L’Amor Mio Non Muore’ studio in Forli, Italy, over the course of two years by UBU and Franco Naddei.
However, tragedy struck when Trinchillo passed away at the age of 41 due to cardiac arrest, just as the mixing process was coming to an end. The record now stands as a testament to his talent and influence as a self-taught drummer and photographer. Each of the 11 tracks on the album offers a unique blend of genres and styles, showcasing the diversity of the artists involved. With hints of Radiohead, Massive Attack, and Elliot Smith, the album is a musical journey through emotions and experiences. But beyond the music, UBU also serves as an umbrella term for all participating artists to create under.

The collective encourages collaboration and experimentation, fostering a sense of community and creativity among its members. And with Trinchillo as its visionary founding member, his legacy lives on through the album and the collective. UBU is now available on all major platforms. The release pays tribute to the incredible talent and influence of Marco Trinchillo and his lasting impact on the world of music and art.
