Judith Owen has released her new single “Inside Out,” a soulful and gospel-charged track taken from her critically acclaimed album Suit Yourself, which has now surpassed one million streams. The song features Grammy Award-winning artist and Snarky Puppy alum Jamison Ross, as well as the Tonya Boyd-Cannon Choir, bringing together old-school soul, New Orleans energy and Owen’s distinctive vocal presence.
Co-written by Owen and Ross, “Inside Out” reflects a celebratory sound rooted in jazz, blues, gospel and classic soul. Ross also performs drums as part of Owen’s Gentlemen Callers, adding to the track’s groove-driven character. He has described the song as a “soul bop,” noting that it carries “old school soul in its bones” while still feeling fresh and immediate.
For Owen, the song is deeply personal. She has said that “Inside Out” speaks to her musical and personal evolution, and to finally allowing herself to become who she is. The song also reflects her connection to New Orleans, a city she says understands that life is fragile and should be celebrated. That idea is amplified by the Tonya Boyd-Cannon Choir, whose gospel vocals help turn the track into an uplifting anthem.
The official video for “Inside Out” was directed by Josh Bagnall and filmed at Fish Pot Studio in New Orleans in May 2026 by Fish Pot America Ltd. The setting reinforces the song’s ties to the city that has played such an important role in Owen’s recent work. Suit Yourself was recorded at Esplanade Studios in New Orleans and features Owen’s Gentlemen Callers, the J.O. Big Band and collaborators including Davell Crawford, Joe Bonamassa and the Tonya Boyd-Cannon Choir.
“Inside Out” is out now via Twanky Records, alongside Suit Yourself. Owen will continue supporting the album with live dates in the United States and Europe, including shows in New Orleans, Nashville, New York, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark.
